🌿 What makes GrassROOTS different?

At GrassROOTS Wellness, we offer more than yoga—we offer a comprehensive approach to whole-body and whole-person health. Our work is rooted in compassion, education, and evidence-informed practice, blending the wisdom of yoga with the science of movement and wellness.

Between our three co-owners and founders, we bring over 2,000 hours of formal yoga education and more than 10,000 hours of teaching experience. Our backgrounds include extensive work with orthopedic and pain management patients in a medical setting, and one of our founders is a Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT).

This experience allows us to create a safe and supportive environment for individuals navigating surgery recovery, chronic illness, movement limitations, or physical pain—always honoring each person’s unique journey and collaborating with their medical providers when appropriate.

🧘‍♀️ Yoga & Therapeutic Movement

What is yoga?
Yoga is an ancient practice that combines gentle movement, breath awareness, and mindful focus to support physical, mental, and emotional well-being. It’s not about flexibility or strength alone—it’s about cultivating balance, calm, and connection within your body and mind. Yoga can be adapted for any age or ability, making it accessible to everyone.

What Types of Yoga Do You Offer?

At GrassROOTS Wellness, we offer a full spectrum of accessible yoga classes—from gentle chair and restorative Yin to dynamic Vinyasa and strength-based flows. Each class is thoughtfully designed to meet you where you are, supporting every phase of life with safe, evidence-based movement and mindful guidance. Here is our current class schedule featuring the many class types we offer.

Can I attend class after surgery or with a chronic condition?
Yes—if your doctor or medical team has cleared you to return to activity.
Many members join us after completing physical therapy or medical rehabilitation. Our classes offer a safe, supportive bridge between clinical recovery and independent movement, helping you rebuild strength, balance, and confidence.

For those managing chronic conditions, our instructors thoughtfully adapt postures and pacing to meet your current capacity and comfort level.
While we are not a substitute for medical care, we are often a trusted next step—or complementary option—for continued healing and well-being.

Do I need to bring my own mat or props?
You’re welcome to bring your own, though we provide clean mats, straps, and blocks for all classes.

🌱 Whole-Person Health & Lifestyle Support (Launching 2026)

What new services are coming in 2026?
We’re expanding our care with Functional Medicine, Integrative Health Coaching, and Ayurvedic Consultations—programs designed to explore the many layers of health, including:

  • Sleep quality & energy balance

  • Nutrition & digestion

  • Movement & recovery

  • Stress response & emotional regulation

  • Relationships & daily habits

  • Self-care practices & boundaries

What is functional and integrative health coaching?
Our coaches and practitioners help identify root causes of imbalance by looking at your whole story, not just symptoms.
You’ll receive personalized, evidence-informed guidance to build sustainable habits that support long-term vitality.

What are Ayurvedic consultations?
Ayurveda, an ancient yet clinically relevant system of holistic medicine, helps identify your unique constitution (“dosha”) and how it shapes digestion, mood, and resilience.
Through nutrition, herbal guidance, and daily routines, Ayurvedic consultations complement modern functional medicine to create a balanced, individualized healing plan.

Do you coordinate care with medical providers?
Yes. We maintain a referral network of doctors, physical therapists, and allied health professionals who share our commitment to evidence-based wellness.
When appropriate, we collaborate or refer out so every client receives the most complete and responsible care.
